I felt like I had nothing earth shattering to say. Today, I feel like I need to write down my thoughts. This month has been really hard. I feel like everything that I hold dear is under attack. I feel hurt, beaten down, and broken. I have struggled with a health challenge that I thought would just go away if I didn't think about it. So not true! For my job, I teach 3 and 4 year olds. I love them dearly! But these last couple of weeks I felt like I had nothing left to give them. I was empty. My spark for teaching was gone. I was burnt out. It wasn't just teaching that I felt this way about. I felt like apart of me was gone. I feel like I have lost the majority of my friends. Needless to say I have had better weeks and months. But as I have trudged along this week I have realized that I can be made stronger because of the Savior. He knows exactly what I am going through. He has been through much worse. He knows exactly what I need. I don't understand why everything is happening at once but I don't need to understand. These last couple of days I have been really thinking a lot about happiness. I talked to my mom yesterday and I was telling her how I felt. I told her I feel like I need to fight to be happy. Sometimes we think happiness is dependent upon our circumstances, but it is not. We choose to be happy and sometimes it takes a lot of effort. Ever since I have decided that I am going to choose to be happy and to trust the Lord, it has made it slightly easier to deal with the challenges I am facing. I am so grateful for the Savior. He is my best friend. I know that He can provide peace in the midst of raging storms because He is the author of peace. I don't expect my challenges to go away anytime soon, but I am going to try with all my heart to be happy and to trust the Lord. I am going to try to forget myself and to think others and how I can help them. I am going to forgive and to be kind to those around me. I know that if try to do these things and let the Savior in then He will help me to become whole again.
My Bishop said something today that resonated with me. He shared the story of President Henry B. Eyring's dad picking weeds from an onion patch.
"Dad was the senior high councilor in his stake with the responsibility for the welfare farm. An assignment was given to weed a field of onions, so Dad assigned himself to go work on the farm.
Dad never told me how hard it was, but I have met several people who were with him that day. I talked to one of them on the phone the other night to check the story. The one I talked to said that he was weeding in the row next to Dad through much of the day. He told me the same thing that others who were there that day have told me. He said that the pain was so great that Dad was pulling himself along on his stomach with his elbows. He couldn’t kneel. The pain was too great for him to kneel. Everyone who has talked to me has remarked how Dad smiled, and laughed, and talked happily with them as they worked in that field of onions.
Now, this is the joke Dad told me on himself, afterward. He said he was there at the end of the day. After all the work was finished and the onions were all weeded, someone asked him, “Henry, good heavens! You didn’t pull those weeds, did you? Those weeds were sprayed two days ago, and they were going to die anyway.”
Dad just roared. He thought that was the funniest thing. He thought it was a great joke on himself. He had worked through the day in the wrong weeds. They had been sprayed and would have died anyway.
When Dad told me this story, I knew how tough it was. So I said to him, “Dad, how could you make a joke out of that? How could you take it so pleasantly?”
He said something to me that I will never forget, and I hope you won’t. He said, “Hal, I wasn’t there for the weeds.”
Now, you’ll be in an onion patch much of your life. So will I. It will be hard to see the powers of heaven magnifying us or our efforts. It may even be hard to see our work being of any value at all. And sometimes our work won’t go well.
But you didn’t come for the weeds. You came for the Savior." Talk: Waiting Upon the Lord (byu speeches)
I am a the midst of my own weed patch and I will choose to follow the Savior no matter what. Yikes!! I can't believe it! I am so happy on the one hand, but the other I want to cry. I feel so unprepared to graduate. The whole world is open to me, but I don't know what I want to do.
This semester has been wonderful! I have some of the best roommates: Deanna, Haylee, McKayla, Cathy, and Gini. They are wonderful girls who inspire me to be better. This semester has had some crazy adventures. Here are some pictures of what the semester has entailed.

As you can see this semester has been quite the adventure. I can't wait to see what the next chapter of my life will bring. Carolinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15616987148057055918noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-941005016716895138.post-33960657423310907342013-03-12T18:16:00.001-07:002013-03-12T18:16:41.480-07:00Ramblings of a Girl!! Welcome back Caroline to the blogging world. Since I have been home, I have been trying to lose weight. I have lost 10 pounds so far. This week my sister Alisa and I are doing a juice detox. Day 1 was really hard! I was very hungry!! Day 2 I felt like I was going to pass out. But according to Kelly, my sister's friend who did the detox, after day 4 it goes uphill! Day 4 here I come!! Anyways, other than that the juice detox is going pretty good!
Other than that my life is pretty typical. I go to work from 8 to 5 and then I come home and relax. I curl up with a book or take a walk around my neighborhood or do some exercising. Life is good!
The most exciting news to happen in the Blais home is that my sister Alisa is engaged!!!! It happened so fast. One second she wasn't dating anyone and the next thing she is spending all her time with Manuel and getting married sometime in the summer!! I am so happy for her!! She deserves the best guy in the world and Manuel definitely fits the category. Since the engagement my life has consisted of weddings plans and shower plans. Weddings are fun!!

Thank you Tracie Peterson for writing a series of books that I absolutely love! These are some of the best books I have ever listened to. Everything I love in one series: romance, religion, and the wild west. I would highly recommend getting the brides of gallatin county.

Another thing that I am in love with is Mindy Gledhill. I love her music especially the songs from her new album Anchor. Every time I listen to her songs I can't help but smile.Carolinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15616987148057055918noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-941005016716895138.post-8773105216021674882011-03-11T14:41:00.000-08:002011-03-23T17:02:34.656-07:00Fun in the SunI have the spent the last couple of days in phoenix.
The first day I got there Emily, Adam, and I went to Arizona Mills. I found this really cute jacket there. After that we went back home and I played with Adam.
He is the cutest little boy ever.
He loves cars. He also loves to push around this kid lawn mower. It is the cutest thing ever. I taught his this new game called Crash. I push the lawn mower while he rides his bike and we crash into things. He loves it.

The next day I went to this awesome fabric store called SAS and bought some pink and white striped fabric. I made my first skirt with Emily. It was nerve wecking but thrilling.
Later on Casey and I picked fresh oranges and made orange juice. That was one of the highlights of the whole trip. It was fun using the juicer to make the orange juice. I loved smelling like oranges the rest of the night. It was a little bit tart but still it was the best orange juice I have ever had.

On friday, Emily, Adam, and I spent most of the day at home. So Adam and I spent most of the day playing outside. He loves playing outside. One of the first things he wanted to do each morning was to go outside.The weather was lovely the whole time I was there. Adam loves his swing. It was fun pushing him and watching him smile when I found try to tickle him while he was swinging.

On Saturday, Casey, Emily, Adam, and I went to the phoenix zoo. I saw my first koala bear. It was asleep though which kinda stunk. The monkey exhibit was the best thing. You go into this enclosed place where these squirrel monkeys are not in cages. They jump and swing on all these ropes and branches that are around you. They were so cute. I wish I had taken pictures. I have never been so close to a monkey in my life. Later on that day we went to Last Chance. This is where all the nordstrom and nordstrom rack items go when they can't be sold. It was great. Everything was really cheap. I found a cute new pair of shoes and a new pair of jeans. I was quite happy!
The rest of the weekend was great! Thank you Casey, Emily, and Adam for letting me come and stay with you. I really loved spending time with you guys.Carolinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15616987148057055918noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-941005016716895138.post-76945766800633080372011-03-05T09:07:00.000-08:002011-03-05T09:25:01.277-08:00Happenings from the Blais HomeA week ago my brother Tyson came to visit. I haven't seen him in 2 years so it was really great catching up with him. It is amazing to me that no matter how long I go without my family as soon as I see them it is like that we haven't been apart for so long. While he was here we mainly just hung around the house working on the puzzle. Dad and him went fishing two days in a row. I am glad that possibly Tyson and his family could be coming in the summer.
In a couple of days, I will be flying to the Phoenix to spend time with my other brother and his family. I am very excited!

Even though my life isn't very exciting. I do pretty much the same things every day. I wouldn't change my life one bit. I love going to work and getting to my audio books that get from the library. They are literally the best inventions ever. I have found a new author that I absolutely love. Beverly lewis writes books about amish people and their struggles. I love them! I would highly recommend the Courtship of Nellie Fisher series.
Also I love getting to work with Kaeli everyday. She is one of the nicest people I know. Plus she has some of the funniest stories to tell. We are always laughing about her and her friends stories.
Anyways this is what is happening in the life of Caroline Blais.Carolinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15616987148057055918noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-941005016716895138.post-62407095236873031052011-02-16T06:33:00.000-08:002011-02-18T15:29:17.657-08:00Valentine's Day 2011<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgK2flZ3W52T3KtmWw6SLeaNR0ZhmDlMjg_hAZrlLS2CRihnfCG0WazUcK2BcDDwg4f7Dydqa9X30FkKfHH1P_thO1WFS0MlWQyP4yjSXzuFW_jdlhsb6ndasietMdzjB1fKf67YgxQIKRh/s200/fester+and+i+2.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5575174814982098722" />
This Valentine's day has to be the most interesting valentine's day ever. Prior to the big day my dad told me I had a special valentine's day card waiting for me. I was so excited. I kept hoping maybe a boy has finally sent me a valentine's day card. Well all month long I have been trying to figure out who the mysterious valentine was. Valentine's day came and who did I find was my secret valentine... My dead cat, Fester. I almost died of laughter, but at the same time I was kinda mad that my dad had made me all excited for what was the most anticipated valentine's day so far. That's what you get for hoping and wishing.
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 140px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUupgSOvrMsR-6GbsNIpNyXZPO-ahQfboaFIm2SG-KgwLEuMbMG15cvMyjo_etwRJEvDKYlkZv1We0qBoxUAbR56bXhJecPZ44FmJgnhzxfzbQ9BHVFq9Ic1x8JCCReNMdDe8FpYHhUkvb/s200/fester+card+2.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5575174993226768722" />
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 146px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGK6i2H8yQ2iPWx4vJ95Dmj1adMZQrPmw-APS6lawEzmTZgtUa08Ua9QJKG3FaARjesx2sbtVz8dAuS1vEfgppZL93XnVd_xmJ-Hp8kSI6B1P6937Nk4tOAXKyjWlIT2JuRRD6CmaOYqlQ/s200/fester+card+1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5575175211419878146" />

I hope everyone enjoyed their valentine's day! I decided to make a list of some of the things that most people don't know about me.

I got home from work today and decided to get a glass of water and put some lemon in it. One thing very few people know about me is that I love lemons. Not just lemon flavored things, but I actually love the fruit. I love the sour taste of lemon juice. It reminds me of summer. I don't know why, but it just does.
One day I hope to be able to learn how to make hand blown. I think this dream started when I visited a local hand blown glass store in Maine. I remember going in and looking at all the creations and how beautiful each piece was. So hopefully someday I can save up enough money and take a class and live my dream.
My favorite place to visit is Keystone, Colorado. My family has rented a cabin twice up there. The cabin is right next to this path that goes through the forest and down to a horse ranch. That is my favorite to walk. It is so peaceful and beautiful. If I could choose any house in the world to have I would pick this cabin. It is homey and comfortable.
Another favorite place of mine is the coast of Maine. There are lighthouses of all different colors and sizes strewn across the coast. I love lighthouses. Maine also holds one of the most fun places to shop. The outlets in Freeport where the L.L. Bean store is. When I lived in Massachusetts my family and I would drive up to Maine to go these outlets.
I love doing the dishes! Whenever I am having a bad day I go and do the dishes and it helps me to de-stress and turns my frown upside down.
One of my dreams is to go to Jerusalem. Ever since I was about 10 I have wanted to go there and walk where the Savior walked.
I love oranges! I love peeling them and getting that orange smell on my hands.
I love velour pants and jackets. I have multiple colors of this fabric. Sometimes I feel like a old lady, but they are just so comfortable.
I love my whale slippers! My good friend Abby and I went to Target and found these kid slippers in the $2.50 section. She got ducks, while I bought the whales. They are so fun to wear and are very comfortable.
I love the snow! I think it makes everything beautiful. But I like every kind of weather. Rain, sunshine, hail, and snow never bring me down.Carolinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15616987148057055918noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-941005016716895138.post-82597334225822376402011-02-01T08:13:00.000-08:002011-02-01T17:56:52.918-08:00One Happy Girl!While driving home from work on the snow packed road, I thought I am so happy to be me. I have been criticizing myself and feeling like crap, but today I realized that I have a wonderful life. I have some many blessings all around me. I am beautiful just the way I am.

Today I decided to list the things that I am grateful for.

I am grateful for my job. I love the place that I work. I get to work with amazing people.

I am grateful for the view I get to see every morning while I am eating my breakfast.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiGP8lbEz7RlGIQu5IdKClt0TqoSxU-a9Hu20ntOhyphenhyphenmyqyNtLGwfSyudtbstg90wM54IskeF-2uhLv_edrN8XkMqZ302x3MH14R9JKPZfzB0gNP1bLG6N4xMvUJJidwDO-hIRZDn1PQ6qLX/s200/temple.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5568904406143918770" />

I am grateful for the warm house I live in, especially on a day like today where the high is a -5 degrees.
Yikes! Good thing I am used to this type of weather!

I am grateful for my family and friends! I have the greatest family and friends! They are always there willing to listen to me and offer their hand to help me in whatever way they can.

I am grateful for my testimony.

I am grateful for my new calling. I love my the CTR 6 class. They are great examples to me. They definitely teach me more than I teach them.

I am grateful to live so close to a library. I love reading!

I am grateful for a healthy body.

I am grateful that I have a car so that I don't have to walk to work.

I am truly blessed! From today on I am going to strive every day to be a happy girl!Carolinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15616987148057055918noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-941005016716895138.post-34953790186913020552011-01-22T14:50:00.000-08:002011-01-22T15:23:05.242-08:00Sewing ProjectsI have completed another semester of BYU-Idaho. I still love it there! It is a great school. My major is Early Childhood/ Special Education. I want to be a preschool or kindergarten teacher. I am so excited to start taking major classes. Since I have been home I have found a job. I am working at Tamarac Medical Inc. I love the people I work with! I get great hours. The hard thing though is keeping myself productive after work. Our family has taken to spending the nights playing this new game Trek to Zion. Alisa, dad, and I could play on average about 3 games a night. It is extremely addicting. But I have decided to limit myself because I want to do other things with my free time. One thing I have always wanted to do is to learn how to sew better. Sewing is not my strong area in the field of domestic arts. Cooking is my favorite. I love making delicious meals especially the desserts.
Well, I have decided to spend this semester learning the art of sewing. So to start I decided to learn how to hem pants. Ever since I was about 12, my mom has had to hem every single pair of pants I have owned. It is time to do it on my own. These are pajama pants I bought at Old Navy on black friday.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEga2-sRYrR-55zhyPichc8kOOkEmtE-Ths_LzrpJnGMOZ_fVy_mVU8QjqqFiS9LqLqpAf9-xqtfjEObYtxXFmhH8uLU9TDqoc1TqU0BaILz5aNQ8lVP0mM9oAwAMUMNIPQzD7JlePVUEP8Z/s200/pajama+pants+before.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5565153224046584050" />

Here is the pants after the completion of the project.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgaFDpBqYAYofA-72zAtAKQb04sQgFGMw6Iy5l7flQzZsvqG7JYdDd0rR10Jb80EoNmaajAHWqbDVh5v_FPGI3iseMGL2Rb532Fa5abNGepDRrtoZti8sr3DJReM4TAn_khgIlkCMpiAB7e/s200/me+and+pajama+pants.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5565154584663096018" />

I had so much hemming these pants. I completed my first year of college. Now I am home for 7 weeks then I start my sophomore year of college. I still can't believe it myself.

Emily, Casey, and Adam visited for a couple of days. It was so much fun having them here. We went to pirate's cove, which is a little water park by my house. There is a big bucket that dumps every 10 minutes. Adam absolutely loved it. We all loved the lazy river and I had my most embarrassing moment while going down the water slide. We saw Despicable Me. I about died of laughter!

I found a job at Tamarac Medical assembling medical kits that test for lead poisoning. I am very grateful for this job! While I have been home I have been reading loads of books. I finished These is my Words, Peter and the Starcatchers, Hunger Games, and Pictures of Hollis Woods. I loved all of these books! I haven't been able to go to the pool as often as I would like but overall I have had a great summer! Another thing I have become obsessed with editing photos.Carolinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15616987148057055918noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-941005016716895138.post-14026747569439904322010-07-02T18:40:00.000-07:002010-07-02T18:46:13.109-07:00FirefliesFireflies lit up that summer I turned six.
My brothers decided to show me the art of firefly catching.

Casey and I ran down the creaky stairs to the dimly lit storage room. My heart beat with excitement as we grabbed a couple of canning jars. Poking holes on top, we allowed the fireflies to breathe.

Hand in hand with my two brothers, I stepped outside and breathed the scent of honeysuckles. The fireflies’ lights dotted the evening sky, capturing my heart and imagination. They were ballerinas gliding across a starlit stage.

Tyson caught one of them. I took a breath, scared of what would happen next. He immediately put her in the jar. The jar blazed with light. Tyson and Casey soon caught others, and each time the light grew brighter.

Now it was my turn. I gently caught her, feeling her heart beat pulsing through me. Tenderly placing her in the jar, I reflected on the glass walls that held her in. I opened the lid, setting her free. Shining so brightly against the dark night, I longed to be her, flying free. Still in the jar, protected from the storms of life. One day I would be set free into the night and would have to make the choice to shine.Carolinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15616987148057055918noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-941005016716895138.post-22967772355379524302010-06-26T14:17:00.000-07:002010-06-27T16:10:17.008-07:00Thoughts from the mind of a second semester freshmenI can't believe that in like 4 weeks I officially become a sophmore in college! As I turn 20 this july, I have been reflecting on my life up to this point. I don't feel like I have done alot in my short life. I have no medals or achievements, but I have learned some really important lessons.

This semester has been alot harder on me than last semester. Academically I am doing great, but I miss home so much. I have also been stressed about deciding on my major and what I want to be when I leave college. I have learned so much about myself and what I want to become. As of right now I am going to major in Child Development and cluster in Home and Family and Reading for a Lifetime. I can't wait to start taking classes for each one of these programs.

I found this quote from Helen Keller that has become my new favorite saying. "Keep your face to the sunshine and you can not see the shadow. It's what the sunflowers do." She truly was a wise woman. I have come to release that I need to not be afraid and to trust Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ that everything will work out.

Here are the things that make me the most happy: My family, my friends, the gospel of Jesus Christ, my children's literature class and my other classes, phone calls from family and friends, packages, cheap groceries, comfortable pants, a sunny day without wind, all different kinds of flowers, the route I take for my walk, Patsy's porch, seeing the preschool children on campus, Shopping at the dollar spot in TargetCarolinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15616987148057055918noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-941005016716895138.post-22019995627045326592010-03-26T13:23:00.000-07:002010-04-09T11:05:22.082-07:00Frosty the SnowmanIn good old Colorado style we experienced the biggest snowstorm in March. On March 24, 2010 we had a blizzard. While this snowstorm was happening , I got to play mom for Maddie, Isabelle, and Charlotte. It was fun and hard at the same time. I don't know how moms do it at all. You have absolutely no time for yourself. I learned loads from this experience. I learned how I need to be more patient and to appreciate my own parents and what they do for me. I learned that I do really want to be a mom someday.

On Thursday, my mom, the three girls and I decided to make a snowman. I took pictures of the snowman but, I cannot find my camera cord so you will just have to imagine for yourselves what he looks like. Get a Job. I believe job hunting is probably the one thing every human being dreads. I have applied to multiple places and got no results! I have been feeling pretty down lately! I have had to really dig deep and trust in the Lord to help me. To help me in this process of picking myself up again, I made a list of the many blessings I have been given.

First and Foremost, I couldn't ask for a better family than mine. My parents are the two most amazing, righteous people I know. The Lord has truly blessed me to be born into my home. My siblings are amazing as well. Each one has taught me something special. Plus they have given the cutest nieces and nephews that a girl could ask for.

Second, I have a Heavenly Father and a Savior who love me despite my many faults and imperfections.

Third, the Scriptures. Each time I read them I feel like the weight of the world has been lifted off my shoulders.

Four, living right next to the Denver Temple. Not many people get to say that they get to wake up in the same neighborhood that I do.

Fifth, great friends. I have the most amazing friends! They truly have helped me in so many ways like writing notes of encouragement, giving hugs, and just spending time with me.

Sixth, good food. I love food! Especially grilled cheese and chocolate milk. I believe that good food can turn a frown upside down.

Seventh, comfy things. Soft blankets, slippers, furry hoods, velour pants and hoodies, and stuffed animals are things that make up me.

Eighth, Sunshine. My mom told me the other day that the sun helps your body to make vitamin D which helps lift the spirit. I wish I could lay out in the sun everyday!

This exercise helped me out alot to see that I have been given so many blessings. Everyone should try it out to either turn a frown upside down or to make a smile even brighter.

Carolinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15616987148057055918noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-941005016716895138.post-68791624736819026822010-01-02T13:20:00.000-08:002010-01-02T13:45:15.163-08:00New Years Resolutions and ThoughtsSorry everyone for not blogging on a regular basis. Christmas break has been fantastic! After leaving rexburg, my parents and I stayed with my sister Leslie and her family. We went and saw the lights at Temple Square. This was my first time going and it was absolutely amazing. I could feel the Spirit so strong as I reflected on the Savior's birth. While I was in the Joseph Smith building warming myself cause it was cold, Dylan dragged me over to the gigantic globe. There was this little boy over there and he came up to me and lifted up his arms, wanting me to lift him up so he could touch the globe. I felt bad so I did. As soon as lifted him up, his mom scurried over. She said thank you even though I knew she thought I was probably a creeper for picking up her son. Anyways I thought that this story was hilarious.
I have been thinking about my new years resolutions lately and I am having a hard time coming up with them, but this is the list that I am planning on working on.

1. Read plenty of books while I am off track
2. Read the Old Testament as well as the Book of Mormon
3. Smile everyday and serve at least one person a day
4. Lose at least another 15 pounds
5. Read about my ancestors
6. Learn to sew
7. Work, Work, Work
8. Take more pictures so as to capture the little moments of life
9. Be more Happy!

I have been reading the book entitled The Hiding Place. It is truly an amazing book. I would highly recommend it to anyone who hasn't read it yet. I wanted to share a quote that I really like. "Happiness isn't something that depends on our surroundings, Corrie. It's something we make inside ourselves." I know that this quote is very true. I know that in my own life when I stop expecting people and things to make me happy, I become more happy. My mom always said to me that "I don't smile because I am happy. I am happy because I smile."Carolinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15616987148057055918noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-941005016716895138.post-243747922306831932009-11-05T18:06:00.000-08:002009-11-05T18:22:15.725-08:00Typical Week of My LifeMy alarm rings at 6 on Monday and Wednesday or 7 on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. I then read my scriptures for a 30 minutes. I love having the apartment to myself in the early morning. I am definitely a morning person. My breakfast consists of eggs or Target Cinnamon Protein Cereal. I enjoy breakfast so much. Then I head to class, with my backpack and iPod. After classes I walk back to the apartment, greet my roommates and make myself some lunch. My favorite lunches are grilled cheese or peanut butter sandwiches. Then I call Mom and tell her about my day. Then I embark on the journey of doing my homework. Around 5 or 6, my roommates and I make ourselves dinner. 8:00 hits, I grab my sneakers and head out the door. It is time for my walk to the temple and back. I love taking walks at night. The stars and moon are glorious against the dark sky. The Rexburg Temple is magnificent as well. This is the time of my day that I look forward to the most besides devotional on Tuesday. Devotionals take place on Tuesday at 2. It amazes me that each devotional tells me exactly what I need to hear that week. Anyway, I know this is kinda of a boring post.Carolinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15616987148057055918noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-941005016716895138.post-46789601199132289492009-10-30T22:17:00.001-07:002009-10-30T22:25:29.116-07:00Pictures that Abby took<img style="float:left; I am definitely home sick, but I like my roommates and all my classes. I miss home so much! My favorite part of being here is the Rexburg Temple. It is so beautiful and you can see it from most anywhere. Every time I look at it, I am filled with peace. I have only been able to attend once, but I am planning on going tomorrow. All my classes are great. I really like my World Foundation class because I get to learn about different civilizations and religions and how they relate to my beliefs. My English Class is also fun. My teacher is really laid back. She gives good assignments that challenge you. The weather here in Idaho has been fairly mild except for the a couple of snow storms. It snowed today. I love the snow. It was so much fun to get bundled in my hat, gloves, winter coat and boots. Carolinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15616987148057055918noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-941005016716895138.post-18223842821373846332009-10-30T12:25:00.000-07:002010-01-12T18:06:24.030-08:00My Favorite ThingsMy roommate Abby gave me this idea to start my own blog and to write my favorite things.
I enjoy walking in any type of weather especially in the rain. I love pepperoni pizza and grilled cheese sandwiches. My favorite colors are baby blue, turquoise, sunny yellow,and pale pink. My favorite time of the day is the morning when the sun is bright. I love eating vanilla ice cream with MNMs in it. I love the smell of earth right after it rains. I simply love the smell of homemade bread, homemade chicken noodle soup and chocolate chip cookies. I love the smell of fresh laundered clothes and fallen leaves. I ejnjoy the crunchy sound fallen leaves make when you step on them. Every time I see a butterfly, I smile to myself. Some of my favorite memories consist of catching fireflies and walking along the river's path in Massachusetts. The music that I love is Owl City, Rascal Flatts, Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, and basically anything country. My favorite outfit is wearing my uggs, a pair of american eagle jeans, and a empire waist shirt with a cami underneath. In the words of Melissa Lefton, "I love life."
Carolinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15616987148057055918noreply@blogger.com5
